• Chargers(adaptors)

The electrical power supply comprise DC(direct current) regulated power supply, AC(alternating current) power supply and special(industrial) power supply.

1)DC regulated power supply: input AC or DC, output DC.

2)AC regulated power supply: input AC or DC, output AC.

3)Special power supply: input AC, output DC, AC or pulse current.

The chargers(adaptors) belong to DC regulated power supply, which are separated into two types (linear regulated power supply and switching regulated power supply) according to controlling methode.

Comparisons of linear and switching regulated power supply are as follows.

In fact, the chargers(adaptors) can be divided into the following units. Each of these performs a particular function.

1. Transformer: to step down AC from high voltage to low voltage.
2. Rectifier: to convert AC to varying DC.
3. Smoothing: to smooth varying DC to a small ripple DC.
4. Regulator: to regulate smoothed DC to steady DC with goal voltage or current value.
